At Sapphire Beach Resort, you'll enjoy meeting your new neighbors. From Canada and Poland to the US and the Azores, the owners on the page are just a small sampling of our diverse, global Sapphire Beach family

Andy Shawnee

Andy & Shawnee from Pennsylvania

Andy and I are from central Pennsylvania. Andy is a concrete finisher and I manage a club/bar. We have been married for almost 3 years.

We have been traveling around the Caribbean for the past four years searching for a vacation/retirement home. When we arrived on Ambergris Caye for the first time we realized immediately that this was the island for us. The snorkeling, diving and fishing here are awesome! After visiting Sapphire Beach and spending time with the developer we knew that Sapphire Beach was where we wanted to buy our new home. Sapphire Beach has one of the most beautiful beaches on the island, and the family environment there is exactly what we are looking for.

We are anxious for our condo to be completed. It will be so wonderful to be able to vacation in our own home instead of a motel room. Our family and friends are excited to visit Ambergris Caye. My son is in the process of obtaining his passport so he can visit Ambergris Caye with us next time.

We can't wait to meet all of our new neighbors and see everyone from Sapphire Beach again!

Reef

Bill & Jane from New Mexico

Jane is an elementary school teacher and Bill is a commercial real estate appraiser/consultant and retired SCUBA instructor. Bill and Jane have two sons, Jesse who is a special effects artist working in the film industry in California, and John who is a musician working in Oregon.

Bill discovered Ambergris Caye seven years ago when escorting a group of SCUBA divers to Belize, and he says he knew then that we would eventually have a place of his own on the island. Bill says, "Although it will likely be a great investment, we bought our unit simply as a family getaway and plan to use it often. It is amazing how large our little 'family' has become once the word got out that we have a place in Belize! We can't wait to move in and start meeting our neighbors.

Clint and Niki

Clint & Niki from Texas

Clint and Niki live in Texas, and got married in December, 2009. Clint is Vice President of a marketing firm and Niki is in mortgage banking. We were looking for a vacation home at the coast in Texas and came to Belize for a vacation. We loved it so much, we came back two weeks later to look for real estate. We fell in love with everything about Sapphire Beach; the location, the developer, the builder, and the concept in general. We cannot wait to honeymoon in our new vacation home, and plan many more vacations to come. We are so excited to meet our new neighbors and familiarize ourselves with the locals.

Danny and Ella

Danny & Ella from Maryland

Danny and Ella are the proud owners at Sapphire Beach. Ella was raised in the former Soviet Union. She moved to Latvia in the mid-80's. Danny met Ella through mutual friends on a planned vacation to Latvia. It was love at first sight. Danny and Ella were married approximately 7 months later and have been married for 5 years. Danny and Ella live in a waterfront community on the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland.

Dennis and Charles

We are residents of Santa Fe New Mexico, Dennis is a resort manager for one of the largest timeshare companies in the world and Charles works for the State of New Mexico. We look forward to vacationing in our new home-away-from home at Sapphire Beach. We look forward to meeting all of our new neighbors (and our local Santa Fe owners also).

We can't wait to relax on the white sandy beaches of Sapphire Beach and enjoy everything that is to be had at Sapphire Beach. Waking up in the morning to have the beautiful view of the barrier reef right outside our front door...paradise.

George and Jill

George & Jill from Texas

George and Jill, of Dallas Texas, met in college and have been married ever since. They discovered Sapphire Beach while surfing the internet on a cold snowy January day in 2010. They liked what they saw and planned a June vacation where they met the developer and toured the site. It was love at first sight as they have always dreamed of white sand beaches, blue water and palm trees. They look forward to their unit being complete so they can spend as much time as possible in Belize until George retires.

George and Sheryl

George & Sheryl from Arizona

George and Sheryl are from Southern Arizona. George is a Physical Therapist and Sheryl is a Pilates instructor. They decided on their first trip to Belize that they wanted to buy property. They have 2 kids, ages 6 and 8, and the family is excitedly waiting to spend time in their new home in Belize.

Tical-Central Plaza

Gerry, Molie, Paul & Pat from Manitoba, Canada

We are Gerry, Mollie, Paul and Pat from Manitoba, Canada, four owners at Sapphire Beach. This is our story on how we came across Sapphire Beach.

The four of us took a cruise together and one of our ports of call was Belize. As the ship was leaving port we were standing on the balcony and looking out at the clear blue waters, Gerry and Paul commented on how nice it would be to have our own place on the Caribbean Sea.

We came home and thought about our trip and how nice it was, and we thought again about how nice it would be to have a place of our own somewhere warm and nice and be able to go every year. We came up with the idea of buying in Belize. We did some research on Belize and decided Ambergris Caye was the place we would focus our search.

Two weeks later we all were on a plane to Ambergris Caye with our list of many places to look at. Our mission was to go to the island and leave there having purchased a place of our own. We went from one end of the island to the other. With only a few days left, we still had a lot of ground to cover and a lot of places still to see.

Our last stop was Sapphire Beach. We got off the boat and walked along the beautiful white sand beach, and arrived where the first buildings were staked out with yellow tape. We looked back from where we stood and all we could see was the beautiful white sand beach and palm trees and the blue water all around. We just got a great feeling and said to one another, 'this is the place.' There was just something about Sapphire Beach that drew us there. We went back to San Pedro and worked out the details and a few hours later we became the first owners to purchase at Sapphire Beach!

This has been a great adventure, and we are enjoying it. Looking at the Resort now and remembering what we saw on our first visit, "WOW"! We are looking forward to meeting all of our new neighbors!

Greg from Illinois

I have owned other resort property on Ambergris Caye since 2000, and when I first heard about Sapphire Beach Resort I thought it was too good to be true. But it's better than good, it's GREAT! The best construction, best beaches, best amenities, best rental share, and all at a great price. I immediately purchased one unit and I am selling my other resort property to purchase additional units at Sapphire Beach.

Greg And Mary

Greg & Mary from Arizona

Greg and Mary, grew up around the ocean but now live in Arizona. Mary is with the Department of Environmental Quality and Greg is an executive for a manufacturing company. Joe and Mo

Joe & Mo from Idaho

Last year, Joe and Mo were married on the Beach in Belize at another resort property on the island where they maintain a timeshare ownership. Joe, a confirmed bachelor of 57 years, still periodically scratches his head over how he wound up married. He thinks Mo spiked his rum punch! Now they are the happy owners at Sapphire Beach.

Jo owns and operates an automotive business and Mo is a high school and college professor. Belize holds a special connection for Joe and Mo and they look forward to meeting new friends at Sapphire Beach!

They've already purchased their own snorkeling equipment and are practicing in their swimming pool until they can return to Sapphire Beach!

The people he met on that trip are now great friends, and Robert is now looking forward to making new ones with all of his new neighbors. See ya'll on the beach!!!

Russ and Jeanette

Russ, Jeanette, Sam & Jacob

Russ and Jeanette live in Wisconsin, but Russ is originally form Australia. Russ is in consumer product research, and Jeanette is an attorney. We've been to Belize many times, and love the climate and the people. We've zip-lined, cave-tubed, horseback-ridden, snorkeled, parasailed and hiked around enough Mayan ruins to know this is where we'd like to be.

Russ, Jeanette, Sam and Jacob

Last time we were in Belize (Easter 2009) the family was dragged behind a boat on a giant inflatable banana until Jeanette swallowed so much sea water she vomited. Afterward, dripping wet and looking like four Medusas, we turned down an alley and ran right into Andrew Zimmern and his camera crew (from Bizarre Foods, on the Travel Channel), and have the pictures to prove it. Where else but Belize can that happen?

Sally and Dale, Lisa and Frank

Sally, Dale, Lisa, Frank, Theresa & Darryl

A proud group of Sapphire Beach owners are three families, and they are related. Sally and Dale, and Lisa and Frank are from Illinois, and Theresa and Darryl currently live in Alabama. Sally and Lisa are sisters and Darryl and Dale are brothers.

Sally is a real estate attorney and Dale is in technology sales. Lisa is a stay-at-home mom, while Frank is a pharmaceutical salesman. Theresa and Darryl are both retired Army helicopter pilots currently employed in the defense industry.

Sally discovered Sapphire Beach when she was on Ambergris Caye to look for investment property. After visiting a number of developments on the island, it took just one step off the boat and onto the beautiful beach at Sapphire to "hook" her. That first visit along with more in-depth investigation of ownership in Belize and the builder/developer team, were enough to convince all three families that now was the time to buy their beach getaway.

Sally and Dale have two teenage children, Christina and Michael. Both Sally and Dale are divers and the entire family loves snorkeling and being by the ocean. "We have been looking forever for the perfect beach house and finally found it at Sapphire."

Lisa and Frank have two children, Erica and Jessica. The whole family loves the water, swimming and the outdoors. Erica and Jessica have not tried snorkeling yet, but what a perfect place to learn! "We have found our piece of heaven at Sapphire Beach."

Theresa and Darryl have two children, Jonathan and Christopher. They're all into water skiing, boating, dirt biking, jet skiing, skydiving and basically anything that moves fast! We're looking forward to coming to Belize for the great activities on the mainland and then coming to Sapphire Beach for just relaxing and kicking back.

We're all looking forward to getting to know the other owners at Sapphire and to be able to escape regularly to Ambergris Caye.

Tom and Donna

Tom & Donna from Florida with family

Tom and Donna and their 3 kids, Kayleigh (age 12), Sofia (age 10) and Tommy (age 4) live in Florida. Tom and Donna met in the Caribbean almost twenty years ago and actually lived at a resort called "Sapphire Beach" (no affiliation with us) in St. Thomas, so the name itself holds some magic for them. Tom works for a well-known theme restaurant as a Business Development and Franchise Development Director. Donna is a massage therapist. Tom's business requires that he travel throughout the Caribbean and South America in search of new sites and partners. He is very familiar with Belize and chose Ambergris Caye after a few trips to this area because it is not overly commercialized. The family loves the beach and fishing so Ambergris is a "no brainer." Tom is originally from Spain and Donna is from South Carolina, but the family moved from Barcelona to Florida 4 years ago. Tom's father and sister (both of whom live in Spain) bought units also, so the Spanish flag flies high and proud over Sapphire!

Mike Deanne and Katie

Mike, Deanne & Katie

Mike and Deanne and their daughter Katie (age 16) live in Eastern Washington near the Canadian border. Mike owns his own construction company and Deanne is a high school librarian. Katie is a sophomore in high school, recently visiting Belize for the first time is already a big fan of Belize. Mike has been going to a southern fishing village, Placencia for over 25 years and has wanted to purchase property there for some time. He is an avid fisherman and enjoys the waters of Belize to fly fish. Mike and Deanne spent their honeymoon there almost 20 years ago and knew it was the place for them. His last trip he had looked at several properties and not until he returned from his trip did he happen upon Sapphire Beach Resort. We were instantly hooked, we finalized the purchase when we traveled as a family to San Pedro and met the team, we knew instantly that this was the place for us.
